In this first workouts in fashion and gadgets, sometimes we get caught up in the hype, without knowing the reason behind it. People use words that sound interesting and exciting, but when you ask them to elaborate, they are unable to. It is the same with a workout routine, I saw trainers guide customers into a routine that I do not understand why they used the selection and sequence of exercises they did. Apparently, either. Maybe they saw someone else do it, maybe the drive was a new video developed by the next person with washboard abs. Either way, the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully build an individualized program and were replaced by lack of knowledge and aesthetically appealing physical. These days, it seems as if there is much confusion and debate about what really defines a great workout.
A common misconception is that people have the drive must leave too badly to be effective. People brag about being so bad they can barely move for three days, vomiting induced by overwork and be sweating throughout the workout. If your muscles got it wrong, you probably have the overworked and unless you produce as much testosterone as a bull, you have probably caused more damage to your muscles as well. If you had to throw up, there’s a reason why and you either have to adjust your routine, your lifestyle or both to make it not a common practice. If you sweat heavily, drink enough water to avoid dehydration. Although these factors are used by many scales to rate the effectiveness of their workout was, they really hurt our physical state. The way to counter this thinking is to exercise functionally.
There is a wide variety of exercises that fall under the umbrella of functional training. The best way to describe it is how you can bring your workouts to your daily activities. Typically, a functional exercise program contains side (frontal plane) and rotation (transverse plane) additional movements for traditional sagittal plane exercises. A functional exercise program should increase the range of motion, improve posture, increase strength and flexibility, while improving the performance and improve balance and stability. The focus is not to build the superficial muscle or lose weight but to produce the most improved version of yourself by gradually increasing your natural abilities. It also has to do with the lifestyle of each individual. For those who live a sedentary lifestyle, a program would be designed to reverse the poor alignment of the body caused by it.
We can come through things nowadays that we do not expect. If we cross the street to catch a bus or climb a fence to escape a stray dog, the better shape we are, the easier these tasks will be to us. Climbing a ladder requires cross body (contralateral) coordination. Throwing a ball requires rotation of the hip, with contralateral movement pattern. When we push an object, we are usually standing, not lying on her back. Then a bench press can increase your strength so you bench press more weight, it does not do much more than that. If you see the bodies of combatants, they are not going to win bodybuilding competitions, but they can certainly outperform a bodybuilder at all levels. Their bodies are extremely functional. This does not mean that you have to train to jump into the octagon, this means that performance and good health should be a higher priority than the looks.
Instead of being concerned about the exercise you are doing and whether it is functional, consider ways to make each more functional exercise. If you squat on assisted machine using dumbbells or free weights will be a better choice. You can activate more stabilizing muscles and improve your range of motion. If you choose to barbell squat four hundred pounds, you can get stronger at the expense of your joints and range of movement. The emphasis on functional training is to enable our body to excel in all areas. With this approach, your body will adapt to this style of training and the results will be felt everywhere. Do not let your definition of health lead to the definition of your abs. Be truly healthy by optimizing your body and move on to accomplish more difficult tasks.
