Here’s a workout that promises to burn up to 600 calories in just 4 minutes.
Created by fitness trainer Jim Saret of “The Biggest Loser, Pinoy Edition”, this 4-minute session includes jumping jacks, squats, push-ups and lunges.
“Running for an hour loses about 150 calories. This workout will burn 600 calories in four minutes – guaranteed, “said Saret in an interview with the ANC” Headstart “program.
If the workout is ideally done in 4 minutes, it is also very dependent on a person’s physical condition, said Saret, who noted that beginners can spend two minutes doing one exercise.
“If you are in good physical condition, you can finish the session in 2 minutes. In this case, you will repeat the exercises to reach 4 minutes, ”he says. “Some people who are sedentary and beginners, can do an exercise in 2 minutes, and will see progress.”
Saret hopes to encourage people to stay in shape by exercising with these four minutes of workout, stressing that you don't have to go to the gym to lose weight.
The workout
With his wife and friend fitness coach Toni, Saret demonstrates how the session is going.
He begins by doing ten repetitions of jumping jacks, followed by 10 repetitions of squats.
"Squatting is one of the best moves to burn fat," he says.
He then continues with 10 pumps. Reassuring those who don't think they can do downhill pumps, Saret says, "You can use a wall. Doing it on the ground is actually an advanced movement. You don't have to do it on the ground. "
The training ends with lunges, 10 for each leg.
Do this several times a day, whenever possible. Or repeat this workout 4 times, with a 1 minute break between each, for a full 20 minute workout. Noting that many people don't like doing push-ups and lunges, Saret says "The exercises you hate are the ones that really work." These little bits of exercise spread throughout the day boost your metabolism and can really improve your health and contribute to your happiness.
